He has served as attorney and guardian ad litem for minors’ settlements. He represented claimants to the 9-11 federal funds for victims of the terror attacks in the World Trade Center. Mr. Deehl was selected as a National Law Journal Elite Trial Lawyers. Top 50 in the USA in 2015. Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Civil Trial and Business Litigation Law, he served on the Civil Trial Certification Committee and wrote and graded its Ethics Examination seven times. Deehl is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Circuit Mediator. He has been certified in Civil Trial and Pretrial by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and he was selected to judge the NBTA national trial skills competition final round.

Mr. Deehl has been a member of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice governing Council, is currently Chair-Elect of its Dispute Resolution Committee, was Chair of the Trial Techniques Committee, the Chair of the McKay Award Committee. Deehl was recipient of the Edmund Muskie Award, ABA-TIPS highest pro bono service award. He chaired the ABA Biennial Jury Symposium in 2014and the ABA-TIPS Mediation Summit at
DePaul Law in Chicago in 2025. Deehl was the Miami Dade Trial Lawyers Association’s president. He also was president of the South Florida Interprofessional Counsel. He has lectured extensively in the USA, as well as in Canada and for the ABA on the USA’s legal system at the Tsinghua University Law School in Beijing, China.
