Bio

Howard I. Wallach is the managing partner in the national litigation firm of Foley & Mansfield’s Detroit office. Howard Chairs the firm’s Family Law and Labor & Employment practice groups. He is a member of the Commercial Practice and Litigation group and has successfully handled a diverse array of cases from a riverbank collapse, to partnership breakups, business and employment disputes, professional liability, senior living claims, commercial and real estate disputes and premises liability matters. Howard has extensive experience in family law, especially in the area of highly-sensitive child custody disputes. Howard has been honored by Super Lawyers twice and has been named one of the Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit by dbusiness Magazine three times.

A leader in the Detroit Jewish community, Howard has been a board member of numerous local Jewish organizations. He received the Jewish Welfare Federation’s Agency Leadership Award in 1988. In 1997, he was elected as one of the youngest presidents in the history of the Jewish Community Council. He is also past Chair of the Michigan Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League and a former member of the Farmington Board of Education.

Howard’s professional memberships include the Michigan Bar Association, the Michigan Association for Justice, and the Defense Research Institute. He is the Chairperson of a Michigan Attorney Discipline Board Panel.

Howard received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1978. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in criminal justice from Michigan State University in 1975.

Howard is admitted to practice before all Michigan State Courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
