Bio

In the course of his 38-year legal career, Paul Avilla has tried dozens of cases in state and federal court, arbitrated cases and also serves as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association. He has handled disputes involving real estate, complex contract disputes, relationships between business owners, dissolutions, and defense of a variety of employment claims, including harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour matters. His clients range from individuals to medium-sized companies and governmental entities. Paul’s background enables him to quickly learn about his clients’ businesses, assess their needs and develop an effective strategy to solve whatever problem is presented.

Paul has served on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the California State Bar. He was also selected to serve on the committee that drafted the jury instructions that are used in employment jury trials in California. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee of the William A. Ingram Inn of Court, an organization of attorneys, judges and laws students that promotes professionalism and excellence in the practice of law.

Paul was born and raised in Silicon Valley. He attended UCLA, where he received a B.A. in Economics. He received his law degree from Pepperdine University, where he was a published member of the Pepperdine Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board. He is the managing partner of McPharlin Sprinkles & Thomas, LLP, where he has practiced since 1995.

Paul currently resides in Washington State and practices remotely through his law firm located in Los Gatos, California.
