Bio

John Hohmeier assists insurance carriers to identify and defend against fraudulent claims as well as investigates and defends multiple-claims cases. He was both trial and appellate Counsel in Dawoud v State Farm Mut Auto Ins, where the Court of Appeals issued a published opinion which essentially adopted the prevailing argument in his brief. Mr. Hohmeier is recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star and is among the 2.5% of attorneys named to the list.

John is a recipient of the Golden Gavel Award given out by the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel (MDTC) in recognition of significant achievement within his area of practice, the community, and the advancement of young attorneys. He has been a chair for the Insurance Law section of the MDTC and now sits on the Board of Directors. While still in Law School, his commentary on the interaction of emotion and brain chemistry with a person's ability to recall veridical memories was published in the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. John's articles are published regularly in Michigan Defense Quarterly which is the premier publication for Michigan’s civil defense bar.
