Born Lorain, Ohio. Admitted to Ohio Bar, 1988; Kentucky Bar 1994; admitted to practice before U.S. Supreme Court; U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit; U.S. District Courts, Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and Northern District of Ohio. Preparatory education: Kent State University (B.S. 1985); Legal education, University of Akron (J.D. 1988). National and Regional Moot Court, 1987-1988. Member: Fayette County and Kentucky Bar Associations; Kentucky Defense Counsel; Defense Research Institute, Inc.

Since 1988, Mr. Robinson’s practice has focused on medical malpractice defense. With 90 medical malpractice jury trials, Mr. Robinson has won 82 of those trials. Six cases resulted in losses, including a plaintiffs’ verdict with an award of one dollar. Two cases resulted in hung juries. A frequent speaker, both to medical and legal associations, Mr. Robinson co-authored a text on medical-legal issues in The Risk Management Handbook for Health Care Professionals, Parthenon Publishing Group (2002).

Mr. Robinson was named Attorney of the Month in July 2013 by Attorney at Law Magazine. He has been selected for inclusion in the 2010 through 2021 editions of The Best Lawyers in America as well as the 2011 through 2021 editions of Kentucky’s Best Lawyers. Mr. Robinson was selected for membership as one of the “10 Best Attorneys” for Kentucky in 2017 by American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys. He is designated one of Kentucky’s Top Attorneys by Super Lawyers Magazine for the years 2011 through 2021. Mr. Robinson is A-V Rated Preeminent for 18 years by Martindale-Hubbell, highest possible peer review rating in legal ability and ethical standards.

In January 2020, Mr. Robinson accepted membership into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) as an Advocate. ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. Membership in ABOTA is by invitation only and is limited to a select number of attorneys in the United States. Advocate membership (the highest level of membership) in ABOTA is limited to those lawyers who have tried at least 50 civil jury trials and who have demonstrated high personal character and an honorable reputation.
